I’m with you here. Why can’t we take the French perspective? Their President is renouned for his womanising, it is a source of mild amusement, but no big deal, he is regarded as an acomplished politician, noone gives a hoot who happens to be sharing his bed, and rightly so, because in all that counts, it is completely irrelevant.

If we want good, sincere and gifted people to step forward to lead our nations, perhaps we should stop hounding the private and personal lives they also happen to lead. I fear less and less of these will be willing to put themselves in the line of fire that today’s spotlight requies of them. In the end, we may all lose. Salacious gossip exacts a high price, it’s one we should have a care of.

I have always felt that politicians having affairs only means they’re closer to the majority of their electorate. Give me a human being over a clean living automaton any day.

D90 is for you then
i used a D80 quite a bit last year (practically the same, just a year or two older)
they are good fun, most places will give you a decent package too which includes a couple of lenses

Thanks kiki. That’s actually really helpful.

It’s a purchase for my own business. Have been making do with a point and shoot but need it for a variety of shots including clear closeup shots. Not serious photography so no real need for a top of the range professional model, but need much better images than what you get with point and shoot.

I’m at a funny age right now. Maybe I’m just forgetful or maybe I feel older, but I keep getting it wrong (my age, that is).

is it for serious photography?

it’s the top camera in the bottom bunch / entry level for Nikon. In mine (more importantly, Jody’s) experience there is no real difference between canon and nikon (what we deem the two best) except how they feel in your hand
they are comparible with price too, although the best place i found to buy stuff is at this join in northcote

That happened to my wife last year. She had just told someone her age and I had to point out that she was in fact a year older than that. She had spent the entire year thinking she was a year younger. She was devastated to have lost an entire year in a matter of seconds.
